Tablet/iPad Compatibility
Why doesn't this app work on tablet/iPad?
Our app is a pedometer designed to track your steps throughout the day. To accurately count steps, the app requires:
- Motion sensors – Accelerometer and gyroscope data from a device in motion
- Portability – A device you carry with you as you walk, run, and move throughout your day
- HealthKit step data – Integration with smartphones' built-in step tracking
iPads are designed as stationary or semi-portable devices that typically remain on desks, tables, or in bags. They are not carried in pockets or worn during physical activity, which makes them incompatible with step tracking functionality.
Can I use any features on tablet/iPad?
While the app is technically available on tablet/iPad (as required by app store guidelines), the core step-tracking functionality will not work. You may be able to:
- View the app interface
- Access settings and preferences
- Browse any educational or informational content
However, no step data will be recorded or displayed since iPads lack the necessary usage pattern for pedometer functionality.
What devices are supported?
This app is designed for and fully supports:
- iPhone (all models with motion sensors)
- iPod touch (if you carry it with you during activities)
- Most Android phones
Why is the app available on tablet/iPad if it doesn't work?
Store guidelines require many apps to support both phones and tablets/iPads as "universal" apps. While we've made the app available on tablet/iPad to comply with these requirements, we want to be transparent that the pedometer functionality is phone-specific.
But I really want to use it on my tablet/iPad!
We appreciate your enthusiasm! However, unless you're planning to carry your tablet/iPad in your pocket all day (which we don't recommend 😄), the step tracking simply won't function as intended. We recommend using the app on your phone for the best experience.
